Bespoke Outdoor Classroom, Fire Pit Hub & Tiered Landscaping
Overview
Reach Academy had a problem common to many urban schools: a steep, underutilised banking that offered no value. They envisioned a “wild” escape where students could trade desks for log seats and textbooks for the crackle of a campfire. Our team focused on “taming” the unused banking without losing its natural charm. By tiering the slope with timber steps, we reclaimed vertical space that was previously inaccessible. We designed a multi-level Forest School sanctuary that works with the natural slope of the land to create a secure, immersive learning environment right in the heart of Batley.

Why Schools Trust Precision Timber
We believe that outdoor spaces are vital for students’ mental health. By creating inclusive, nature-led environments like storytelling circles and fire pits, we provide a much-needed sanctuary for social connection and emotional regulation. Schools trust us because our designs don’t just occupy space – they nurture the school community, offering a peaceful retreat that reduces stress and builds lasting friendships through shared outdoor experiences.
