Lawrence View Primary School in Nottingham sought to enhance their EYFS outdoor play space by creating a physical climbing area for their EYFS children. The staff wanted a play structure that would support gross motor development, physical activity, risk-taking, and problem-solving skills. With an underutilised hill in their outdoor space, they recognised an opportunity to turn it into a dynamic play area and contacted us to bring their vision to life.
We worked closely with the school to design a bespoke children’s play equipment solution that would be both fun and educational. Using robinia timber, sourced from the Black Forest in Germany, we created a strong and visually appealing climbing unit. Robinia timber is a durable hardwood that is ideal for outdoor play, combining longevity and aesthetic charm with unique, natural properties.
